**The project**

In April 2016, Gnucoop was commissioned to redesign the UNHCR’s Twine app in order to make it better suited to current and future needs, overcoming the limitations of the original app. Gnucoop provided support to all the countries where the app was piloted. It was involved in training staff on site, as well as in the installation and distribution of tablets in refugee camps.

The newly redesigned application, called iRHIS (Integrated Refugee Health Information System, https://his.unhcr.org/home), enables data collection via mobile phones or tablets. The data collected is then synchronised with the web application, which enables the visualisation and analysis of the collected data, the generation of reports at various levels, the analysis of public health and nutrition indicators, and the display via a dashboard of specific indicators across multiple geographical levels (from refugee camps worldwide to national offices, right up to the regional and HQ levels). The information covers the sectors of health, water and sanitation, nutrition and food security.

Data is collected via digital forms and a mobile app. The mobile app is a hybrid app, developed using Angular.

The platform is also available in French, with the option to integrate other languages, including local languages.
