The project

The project has the aim of improving the access and the quality of inclusive eye care services both within the communities and health facilities in the districts of Kitgum, Lamwo and Arua (Acholi and West Nile sub-regions, North Uganda). In particular, the proposal focuses on the most vulnerable groups, such as persons with disabilities, women and children.

Thanks to the use of our platform DEWCO, the use of the Health Management Information System (HMIS) data collection system will be strengthened within the two hospitals and the 4 target health centres responding to the need to have updated data on the number and type of visual pathologies found during the implementation of the intervention. The data will be shared regularly on a monthly and quarterly basis with the Ministry of Health and main governmental health stakeholders (DHOs, Rehabilitation Unit) and included in the national database.
